Tip A Wheat King Night Finalized
Thursday, October 07, 2010 6:19 PM
Brandon, Manitoba – The Canadian Kidney Foundation is pleased to announce the lineup of players that will be participating in the 2010 Tip-a-Wheat King Night, scheduled for Tuesday, November 2nd in both Aaltos and Tavern United in the Canad Inn.
Kidney Foundation Fundraising Coordinator Gail Janz has announced that three members of the Wheat Kings will be working the lunch at Aaltos while seven others will be turning in their sticks and skates for dinner plates and wine glasses at the Tavern United.
While veterans Ryley Miller, Brodie Melnychuk and Brenden Walker will take care of the lunch crowd, Captain Shayne Wiebe will be among those waiting tables at the Tavern United from 5:30 – 9 p.m.
Joining Wiebe will be Dallas Stars’ first round draft choice Scott Glennie, Ottawa Senators’ draft pick Mark Stone as well as four rookies – Ryan Pulock, Tyrel Seaman, Jason Swyripa and goalkeeper Liam Liston.
All tips received by the Wheat Kings this year will be donated to the Brandon office of the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
On the ice, the Wheat Kings return to the ice at Westman Place this weekend for back to back home games. Brandon plays host to the 2010 Western Hockey League Rookie of the Year Ryan Nugent Hopkins and the Red Deer Rebels on Friday, followed by the Tri-City Americans on Saturday.
Tickets for both games are on sale now at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at
