MB – The Wheat Kings have announced that 16-year old left-winger Carter
Proft has been assigned to the St. Albert AAA Midgets.
Tuesday’s
move leaves the Wheat Kings with 29 players on their active roster,
including 19-year old center Brayden Schenn, who remains with the Los
Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.
A fifth round draft
choice of the Wheat Kings in the 2009 Western Hockey League Bantam
Draft, Proft played in one game this season. The 5’11” 195 lb Proft
scored three goals and 6 points with Knights of Columbus Midgets in
2009-10.
Brandon currently has fifteen forwards, ten defencemen and four goalkeepers on its roster.
The
Wheat Kings next see action on Friday night when they play host to the
Red Deer Rebels in the first of back to back home games this weekend.
