    Tuesday, October 05, 2010 5:04 PM

Brandon, MB – The Wheat Kings have announced that 16-year old left-winger Carter Proft has been assigned to the St. Albert AAA Midgets.

Tuesday’s move leaves the Wheat Kings with 29 players on their active roster, including 19-year old center Brayden Schenn, who remains with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.

A fifth round draft choice of the Wheat Kings in the 2009 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft, Proft played in one game this season. The 5’11” 195 lb Proft scored three goals and 6 points with Knights of Columbus Midgets in 2009-10.

Brandon currently has fifteen forwards, ten defencemen and four goalkeepers on its roster.

The Wheat Kings next see action on Friday night when they play host to the Red Deer Rebels in the first of back to back home games this weekend. Tickets are on sale now at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca
