The Warriors dropped their
season opener Friday at the
Civic Center. Neither team would
manage to score in the first
period. Swift Current would
come out of the gates firing in
the second with two goals from
Stepan Novotny and Taylor
Vause. Antonin Honejsek would
be the only Warrior to score with
a top shelf marker over Friesen.
Brad Hoban would find the back
of the net on the power play to
end the second period.
The third period was quiet
offensively with only a single goal
coming in the dieing minutes of
the game on an empty netter for
Brad Hoban. The story of the night was penalties. Twenty three in total were handed out; with
11 going to the Warriors.
Game two of the weekend went in the Warriors favor, posting a win in Swift Current. The
first goal came from rookie Jordan Wyton. The game winning goal went to import Michal Hlinka
on a penalty shot. Warrior's record stands at 1-1.
TRIBE TALK
