    HUMBOLDT BRONCOS
Humboldt lost its long-held No. 1 position in the SJHL Power Rankings for three weeks during the month of November, but regrouped to reclaim the spot by early December.

In addition to the fine play of SJHL Player of the Month Scott Schroeder (10-8-11-19 in November), netminder Andrew Bodnarchuk picked up where he left off prior to going to the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge by posting a 4-1 mark with a 1.94 GAA and .937 save percentage in his final five starts.

    MELFORT MUSTANGS
After blitzing through October at an 8-2-1-and-1 clip, Melfort fell back a touch in November by winning seven of 12 games.

On a bright note, rookie netminder Jordan Washburn appears to have righted his ship after a rocky start to his Junior A career.

Washburn received a runner-up mention for Goaltender of the Month honors.

    FLIN FLON BOMBERS
Flin Flon ended November with some concerns about their ability to compete against the upper echelon teams in the league, especially after getting crushed 9-2 by the conference-leading Broncos toward the end of the month.

Head Coach Mike Reagan added some sandpaper to his lineup by subtracting rookie scoring whiz Cole Gibson and the speedy David Lawrence, and replacing them with 19-year-old Dan Lind and 20-year-old Josh Garneau, who brings with him a pair of SJHL championship rings won in Humboldt the last two years.

    NIPAWIN HAWKS

The injury bug struck Nipawin as both Dean Prpick and Matt Schneider were lost long term.

It resulted in a tailspin that may have a happy ending after all as head coach Colin O’Hara finally found an assistant coach (Duane Thorpe), got an early Christmas gift in the form of Brent Ottmann’s return from Germany, added another scorer in Shael Hechter, and then got a report that Prpick was healing ahead of schedule.

    LA RONGE ICE WOLVES
La Ronge went just 3-9 during the month of November and don’t have a single player producing anywhere near a point per game clip.

Despite mediocre stats, Jonathan Jobin has been a rock between the pipes as he has kept the club in many of those losses and also stole one or two of the victories.

    BATTLEFORDS NORTH STARS
The Battlefords North Stars have already won more games than they did all of last year and first-year head coach Ken Pearson is under no illusions when it comes to rebuilding the Stars into a true contender.

However, Pearson also knows he may be able to guide this club into the playoffs, and with the Hawks and Ice Wolves also floundering in the standings, there is a possibility the Stars could win a round should they get into the post-season.

Nineteen-year-old Blake Peake led the team with 8 points in 11 games during the month
of November.
