As an organization, Hockey Canada strives to be the best sport organization possible. The emphasis continues to be on producing great people and helping teach good values to everyone involved in the game of hockey.
Hockey Canada will continue to drive our major projects, but will continue to plan for the future, as we all know how important the future of our game, and our organization, will be. We thank you for helping work towards reaching these goals and look forward to pushing even more boundaries and once again setting higher standards for the coming season.

Hockey Canada has an outstanding record of achievement in both domestic programming and international competition. We strive to be the best in both areas while ensuring that our participants have an enjoyable experience. The 2007-08 season was one of Hockey Canada’s proudest moments, as we successfully hosted the world for the first time ever, bringing the IIHF World Championship to Halifax, NS and Quebec City, QC. And while the world championship was the centerpiece of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s 100th anniversary, Hockey Canada helped put on a number of other successful events surrounding the tournament, including the Hockey Canada/IIHF Skills Challenge, International Coaches Conference, National Arena Symposium, Hockey Canada Officiating Summit, World Youth Tournament, World Oldtimer’s Tournament and IIHF General Congress, which made for an exciting three weeks in Eastern Canada.

None of those events, or any of the programs Hockey Canada implements every season, would be possible without the continued support of our 13 provincial Branches. It is the Branches that provide the necessary infrastructure to support these events and programs and initiatives all across the country. Hockey Canada, along with its Branches, is committed to filling its five financial goals which will bring long-term stability to the game.

It is with the support of our Branches, as well as the Canadian Olympic Development Association, that we are able to move ahead with a new sport training and administration building in Calgary that will house Canada’s 
elite athletes.

Canada’s hockey system continues to rely on the countless number of volunteers spread throughout the country to help make this game so successful and to continue to provide opportunities for participants of all ages.

The amount of hours that these volunteers devote to the game of hockey is indicative of our country’s love of the game. Our volunteers do us proud and we extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to growing the game across Canada.

Hockey Canada is extremely grateful for the support received from our sponsors, licensees, and funding partners. They are dedicated to our game and have brought value to our events, making them premier sporting attractions in Canada. This support has allowed Hockey Canada to offer outstanding domestic championships and host very successful international events.

At home, we continue to offer our competitive players regional and national championships where they showcase their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship against players of equal ability from across the country.

Internationally, we have had amazing results this past season. The National Junior Team won its fourth consecutive gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Championship, the National Sledge Team won gold at the IPC Sledge Hockey World Championship, the National Women’s Team brought home silver from the IIHF World Women’s Championship and the National Men’s Under-18 Team were gold medalists at the IIHF World Under-18 Championship.
